KAYFABE CLIPS: King Kong Bundy talks with Pro Wrestling Illustrated

Bundy sits down with PWI Editors Craig Peters and Bill Apter in this video from Georgia Championship Wrestling on WTBS

GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING - One of the best big men of the 1980s, King King Bundy is interviewed by Bill Apter and Craig Peters, from the Pro Wrestling Illustrated family of magazines.

Bundy had burst onto the scene in multiple territories showing uncanny balance and agility for a performer his size. Honing his skills throughout the South, he would eventually go on to fame as part of the World Wrestling Federation.

Here, he tells the two journalists how he holds his fallen opponents down for a five-count so that there can be no debate on who the winner of the bout is.

Bundy would famously become part of the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection in the WWF in the mid-1980s and face the likes of Andre the Giant and The Junkyard Dog in some of his early battles in the promotion. The biggest moment of his in-ring career came at WrestleMania II, when he challenged World Champion Hulk Hogan in the main event.

Outside the ring, he became somewhat of a cult figure, due to his huge dimensions, bald head, and outgoing personality. He appeared in various advertisements and even made cameo appearances on the popular FOX sitcom, Married with Children.

Known as one of the legendary 'bad guys' of his era, King Kong Bundy would sadly pass away on March 4, 2019. He was 63 years old at the time of his death.
