TRIPLE H ADDRESSES NEW WWE TITLE CHANGE

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has now commented on Trick Williams winning the NXT Championship at this weeks’ NXT Spring Breakin’ show.

During the April 23 special, Williams challenged for Ilja Dragunov’s gold. Williams was ultimately victorious, pinning Dragunov to become the new NXT Champion.

Triple H has now taken to Twitter to praise both Williams and Dragunov following the match.

Congratulating Williams for his title win, Triple H said:

This win marked the beginning of Williams’ second title reign in WWE, following his three day stint with the North American Championship in 2023.

Ilja Dragunov had held the gold for 206 days ahead of William’s victory, with Dragunov originally defeating Williams’ former tag partner Carmelo Hayes at No Mercy 2023 to become champion.

Big changes have been announced for the upcoming NXT Battleground special, with the show moved to June 9. It will also now emanate from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
