Top 3 Takeaways from Dark: Elevation 20th Feb 2023

This week's recap of AEW's YouTube show, Dark: Elevation. Episode 103 on February 20th 2023

This week’s Elevation came to you from Laredo, Texas, with 7 matches featuring the Powerhouse Hobbs, Lee Moriarty, Big Bill, and more... Here are your Highlights

#1 The Bros are Back

This was the first match we have seen the Lucha Bros in since losing the World Trio’s Championships to The Elite, and they did so in triumphant fashion. Last week on Dynamite they returned to AEW by interfering in the Mark Briscoe/Josh Woods match, driving Ari Daivari & Tony Nese from ringside.

On Elevation, this feud continued and the duo of Daivari & Nese had an opportunity for a measure of revenge against the former champions. The Lucha Bros jumped straight back in, with no back down against these Dark regulars, and notched another W in this main event

#2 Some Women’s Reconciliation

After her warm welcome home last week, Vickie Guerrero seems to have made peace with her two clients, Nyla Rose & Marina Shafir. The 3 ladies were starting to show some cracks in their friendship/business relationship in past weeks, with Vickie refusing to accompany them on a handful of occasions.

This week she happily escorted them out again, along with Emi Sakura, to take on team of Madison Rayne, Willow Nightingale & Leva Bates. Despite the Librarian’s new appearance, this trio were unsuccessful, and all three of them became Nyla Rose’s 90th win. This places her 2nd for the most AEW matches won, 2nd only to Mox. #3 10-man Mayhem

We had a strong mid-card match this week on Elevation, with the team of The Firm (Ethan Page, Matt Hardy & Isiah Kassidy) partnering up with The Butcher & The Blade, to take on the contingent of the Dark Order (John Silver, Evil Uno & Alex Reynolds) and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent).

A lively match, just as you would expect with this many men in the ring, but the true story here was the ending. Ethan Page essentially cost his team the win, by being far too distracted assisting his new best friend, Hardy, when he took a spill to the floor. This left young Isiah high and dry with the Best Friends, and resulted in him taking the fall.
