Rhea Ripley Vacates Women’s World Championship On WWE Raw

As of Raw last night, Rhea Ripley’s reign as Women’s World Champion has come to a devastating end.

Hours before last night’s episode of WWE Raw went on the air, news broke that Rhea Ripley had suffered a serious injury and could be forced to vacate the title. Unfortunately, this report was true.

Making her entrance with her right arm in a sling, Rhea Ripley announced that she would be sidelined for “a few months” due to injury and had to relinquish the title as a result. The Montreal crowd chanted “bullsh*t” at the news, to which Rhea Ripley agreed.

On the Raw after Mania, The Eradicator was attacked backstage by Liv Morgan. Rhea Ripley went on to reference Liv Morgan’s “revenge tour” and called her a coward for blindsiding her. Issuing a warning, Rhea Ripley stated that when she is coming back it will be blood, adding that if she finds Liv Morgan then she will need to be locked up in Montreal jail. Liv Morgan then interrupted but was held back by security.

Later that night, Rhea Ripley was seen backstage with the rest of The Judgment Day. The group embraced and wished Rhea Ripley well as she began her road to recovery.

Rhea Ripley won the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39 by defeating Charlotte Flair. The Eradicator was also one of the few champions to successfully retain her title at WrestleMania 40, defeating Becky Lynch in the opening match of the weekend. Rhea Ripley’s reign lasted 380 days.

Later in the night, new WWE Tag Team Championship designs were unveiled.

It was later confirmed that a new Women’s World Champion will be crowned on next Monday’s episode of Raw. At the time of writing, no details have been provided regarding who will compete for the vacant title on the upcoming show.
