Clarification has emerged on Kota Ibushi’s status, following a recent update about his relationship with NJPW.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion became a free agent in February after his NJPW con
tract expired.
Dark Puroresu Flowsion recently stated that Kota Ibushi told them that he has received a new offer from NJPW, and that a return wasn’t completely off the table.
In an update, Dark Puroresu Flowsion clarified that Kota Ibushi told them that AEW is his top priority, tweeting:
As I stated yesterday NJPW has an offer for Kota Ibushi. He told me AEW is his #1 priority still.
Kota Ibushi has teased his AEW debut on several occasions, recently noting that he hopes to be in contact with AEW President Tony Khan soon.
The Japanese wrestling veteran has also teased a reunion with his former tag partner Kenny Omega, sharing a pitch for a tag bout at AEW All-In.
