1986 - The Television Champion and his young protege say they are tired of the 'pretty boy' Terry Taylor and they're going to run him out of the Universal Wrestling Federation.

Sawyer would actually lose the title to Taylor and depart the company shortly thereafter. The young Rick Steiner, still a couple of years away from teaming with his brother Scott in the NWA, was a rising star in the promotion. When Sawyer left, he would align himself with the heel stable, Hot Stuff Incorporated, led by wrestler/manager Eddie Gilbert.

Of course, The Dog-Faced Gremlin would find his greatest success in WCW as part of the Steiner Brothers. He and Scott would win multiple world championships in WCW, WWE, and Japan.

Rick also had singles success. On his own, he held the WCW World Television title on three occasions and is a former United States Campion. He was inducted (along with Scott) into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
