Drew McIntyre Has NOT Re-Signed With WWE

We at Real Rasslin have come to learn.

Contrary to some reports (and in a continuation of one of the most intriguing stories of this year), current World Heavyweight Championship number one contender Drew McIntyre has NOT re-signed with WWE.

His exposure on television continued exceptional character work and the building of a potentially gripping series with CM Punk upon the latter's return from injury led many to assume that the two sides had finally reached an agreement about the 'Scottish Warrior's future.

Not so, according to MailSport Editor Alex McCarthy and Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp.

Alex McCarthy took to Twitter (X) to refute claims from scoops outlets that he'd finally resigned, noting that;

"Drew McIntyre has not re-signed with WWE…. Yet. I want Drew to re-sign with WWE as much as the next guy, but he hasn’t right now - nor is it on the brink of being finalised either."

Sean Sapp backed that up, adding that;

Drew McIntyre won Saturday's Elimination Chamber to become the Number One Contender to Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. The pair are expected to work Night Two should Seth Rollins be included in the presumed tag battle with The Bloodline on Night One.
