AEW Star Suffers Legitimate Injury

An AEW star has suffered a legitimate injury in a recent match according to a new report.

At NJPW Resurgence (May 11) Eddie Kingston defended his NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship against Gabe Kidd in a Last Man Standing bout.

Unfortunately for Kingston he not only lost his last remaining piece of gold to Kidd, but he would also be attacked by The Elite’s Young Bucks and Jack Perry after the bell.

Prior to that however during the actual match, it seems as if Kingston may have unfortunately been injured according to a new report from Fightful Select.

During the closing stages of the title bout Kingston took a suplex from Kidd from the ring apron through a table. However, on the way down to the floor Kingston’s legs landed on the barricade, with the 2023 Continental Classic winner favoring his right leg after the spot.

According to Fightful’s report, Kingston was indeed battling a “legit” injury following the match, however, the extent and nature of this has not yet been confirmed.

Kingston reportedly needed assistance after the match was over and had a “bad limp” backstage afterwards.

The Mad King is set to compete at AEW Double or Nothing 2024 on Sunday, May 26 where he teams alongside FTR and Bryan Danielson to take on The Elite’s Young Bucks, Jack Perry and Kazuchika Okada.
