Valentine's Day Dynamite

On this day of love we are given the option of violence. Well, we choose violence. It is has to be big because it is in Texas, right? Everything is supposed to be bigger down there. There is no confirmation but some in attendance have reported that AEW is not letting Chris Jericho stuff in the door.

As usual Dynamite gets right into the action. Jon Moxley against Dax Harwood. The fans are split on who to cheer. Both men try psychological warfare with Mox getting the upper hand by kissing Dax. Harwood then starts laying in the blows before Jon Moxley would eventually turn the tides laying in body blows. Mox would end his stint of blows with biting. This is a brawler match. The brawling went to the outside and the ref Paul Turner would follow. The most interesting thing on the outside was a catapult of Dax into the steel steps. Both of these big hitters are equally matched in their striking abilities. Both men would climb the ropes but Mox would get the upper hand after raking the back. I believe this may be becoming a habit of his just like Dean Ambrose has the rebound lariat regardless if it makes sense or not. After a short series of attempts of technical moves Dax would hook Mox in a Sharpshooter at the five minutes left mark. Big piledriver gets Dax a two count. Dax barely pinned Mox making the kickout easy. Jon would kick the rope while Dax is getting in before a cutter. That flurry of offense would only get Moxley a two count when he attempted a pin. Harwood would get a brainbuster with two minutes remaining. Reach chinlock would cause Dax Harwood to tap with just over a minute remaining. Moxley would not release. Cash in for the save. Claudio would then enter the ring and deliver a Neutralizer onto Cash. Not a horrible first 25 mins.

Don Callis in a backstage segment announced another match for Revolution. It will be Will Ospreay against Konosuke Takeshita.

Wardlow would face a local talent. The talent Barrett Brown looks like Joey Janela. Wardlow quickly puts him out of action with the avalanche knee. Wardlow would take some time to pose. Wardlow would punctuated the match with a massively delayed Last Ride.

Surprisingly little pomp and circumstance leading into this match. Ooooh Yeah! This is going to be a good match. Adam Copeland starts the match with some kicks. Daniel Garcia is getting beat up early in this match. Garcia's first offense is an ankle lock. This matchi is a nice mixture between technical ability and brawling. Adam Copeland would deliver a shoulder breaker which would lead to him working over the arm. Huge Dragon Screw off the top rope executed by Daniel Garcia. This created a temporary explosion of domination by Garcia. Adam Copeland is selling a left knee injury from the onslaught of Garcia. Adam Copeland would get an avalanche Impaler to stop Daniel Garcia's momentum. Nick Wayne and Killswitch would cause the match to be a no contest. The Patriarchy would stand tall at the end of the assault.

Joe cuts a promo about regretting the ranking system he brought back since it has created a triple threat for him at Revolution March 3. He vows to cripple his opponents. Swerve Strickland comes out. Swerve just basically covered that he has proven he is one of the best in the world currently. After Swerve vows to win enter Hangman Page. Page just says it should be him and Joe. Then tells Swerve he isn't worth his time and is unworthy of being in the match. Lame promo. I miss MJF.

Matthew and Nicholas are still dressed in the blood stained white suits. Their heel moves are still going strong as they force Justin Roberts to redo his announcement of them. Dante and Nicholas start the match. Nicholas being distracted allows Dante to do an arm drag to him when he gets back in the ring. Matthew attempts a fake out but Dante does not fall for it before tagging in Darius. Top Flight went to fly out of the ring but the Young Bucks moving kept them grounded. Top Flight would eventually be able to vault themselves over the ropes. I am actually surprised with the time this match has been given. A crossbody by Dante would score a near fall onto Matthew Jackson. Dante would deliver a nice looking tijaris. Matthew Jackso would eventually attempt to cheat with putting his foot on the ropes. Rick Knox would catch that but not the later low blow. The low blow led to a EVP Trigger for the win. The move of the night was the EVP Trigger. WIll the shame award be a thing going forward?

After the match Tony Schiavone would talk to the Young Bucks. Nick would knock Tony down then the EVPs would tease a EVP trigger. Darby comes out for the save. He also teased Cody's status as a former EVP. Darby calls out the lack of the "Change the World" mantra and the nepotism that occured. Great promo by Darby.

Willow starts the match by shaking her head at her opponent. Sky Blue gets the early advantage. Willow easily overpowers Sky Blue. After chasing Sky Blue around Willow is able to get the big pounce on Sky Blue. Sky Blue would recover and deal the majority of the of attacks. Willow NIghtingale would use her power to momentarily take control. Willow delivered a spinebuster for a two count. Stokely Hathaway who had been on commentary cost Skye Blue the match.

Now this is a match I can get behind for Orange Cassidy on his way to facing Roderick Strong. This match for Matt Taven won't be about winning the title but about inflicting damage on Orange Cassidy. I don't like seeing title defenses for championships that already have big matches announced. Both men start out with a hockey fight. Taven calls for backup early in the match. No one shows. Is his timing off? Taven' long lanky body makes simple things look impressive to me. For example most enzaguri's are done so close to the opponent. Taven is able to get almost the same distance as a drop kick. Drop kicks are another thing people with his body type make look spectacular. Taven is able to deliver an elbow drop to Orange Cassidy who was on a table. The table was sturdy and did not break. Taven would break it with a suplex after he leaned it up against the ramp. Bryce Remsburg started a ten count. Orange Cassidy got up at 5. Orange Cassidy gets busted open. Taven gets another table. A third table and a white box can be seen under the ring. Taven leaps over the top rope but Orange quickly gets out of the way. Taven ends up diving into the table he had just set up. Orange pulls a box of chocolates from Chuckie T out from under the ring. Correction a box of thumbtacks. Taven throws Orange into them from the top rope before delivering a frog splash as Orange Cassidy would move again. Taven would then suffer a DDT. MIke Bennet would come out to help Taven by cracking a big purple heart into ORange Cassidy's head. Trent would then come out with a lead pipe. Chairs go flying. An inverted DDT to Trent. Orange would then hit a beach break and two Orange punches. Taven did pull at the pockets of ORanges. Roderick Strong fails to make a difference. Matt Taven fails to make it to his feet. Orange Cassidy wins the Texas Death Match. A Death Match that lacked the violence until the end of the match.
