Tony Khan Says Wardlow Will “Surely Be Back On AEW TV”

Tony Khan claims that Wardlow is “still very much a part of” AEW.

At one stage in the promotion’s history, Wardlow was one of the biggest superstars on the roster. The former TNT Champion was spectacularly popular with fans and demolished MJF at Double or Nothing in 2022.

However, despite two runs with the TNT Championship, in 2023 he struggled for momentum before disappearing from television altogether.

During the AEW WrestleDream media call, Tony Khan was asked about the superstar’s status and where he stands with the company.

“Wardlow is a great star for us. He’s been one of the greatest TNT Champions and a great star. I’m a very big fan of Wardlow and he will surely be back on AEW TV when the time is right and he’s still very much a part of what we’re doing here,”

When Did Wardlow Last Wrestle In AEW?

Wardlow hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since losing the TNT Title to Luchasaurus on the debut show of Collision on June 17th. This brought to an end his third run with the gold that began in mid-April.

The title is now in the possession of Christian Cage who’s set to meet Darby Allin in a Two out of Three Falls match at WrestleDream this Sunday.

During the call, Tony Khan also confirmed that he was hoping to bring Rob Van Dam back in for more matches. To date, the WWE Hall of Famer has wrestled in AEW twice, with his most recent outing coming on the September 23rd episode of Collision.
