Tony Khan Explains Decision To Change AEW All Out 2024 Date

TONY KHAN EXPLAINS DECISION TO CHANGE AEW ALL OUT 2024 DATE

Following the announcement of the PPV change, AEW CEO Tony Khan has explained the decision to change the AEW All Out 2024 date.

As previously reported, All Elite Wrestling announced that AEW All Out 2024 was moving one week back to the weekend after Labor Day on Saturday, September 7.

This was a change that many fans have wanted since the All In London event was booked for the week before Labor Day weekend last year.

In a new interview with Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy, Tony Khan explained the decision to change the AEW All Out 2024 date. He said:

“It was really a great two-week period last year of back-to-back weekends with All In and All Out.”

“There was a lot of feedback of, ‘Hey, what about more time between the shows?’ and they’re both holiday weekends and I think there’s a utility to both the weekends.”

“Labor Day weekend has been really kind around Chicago to AEW. I wanted to continue putting AEW on in September and I wanted to give the fans in Chicago a great show and I was thinking how can I give them an even better show,”

“Coming off the stadium show, it’s hard to come in and do anything the week after that but last year we did it and the show was fantastic and a lot of people thought All Out was the best event of the entire year.”

Agreeing that more space between the All In and All Out shows would be helpful, Khan explained:

“One note people had was, if All Out had been a little bit further out we could have built things a little bit more and maybe people wouldn’t have been so surprised at how great the show turned out to be… and I thought that made sense,”

On AEW no longer being the only show running on Labor Day weekend, Khan noted:

“We have the ability to have a major event at Wembley and continue the tradition of an early September wrestling pay-per-view for Chicago,”

“[The decision] has been very well received people seem to think it was a good move and I really do like listening to the fan feedback.”

AEW will run the next pay-per-view this Sunday, May 26 with Double Or Nothing 2024 from Las Vegas, Nevada. For the full lineup for the event, click here.
