Return of a Scumbag

AEW debuts in Loveland, Colorado starting the show off with MJF. He is sporting his new merch available at shopaew.com However, back to MJF he is still as arrogant and on point with his mic skills as always. El Torro Blanco finally interrupts MJF. Rush seems to be MJF's first feud back.

The participants in this match are Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Jay Lethal, and Rey Fenix. So the longest holder of the title and the shortest holder of the title are both in the match. Jay struts early but that allows Orange Cassidy to dive all over the place before Kyle O'Reilly halts the action with a double wrist lock. Orange breaks it by putting his own hands in his pants. Fenix starts to pick the action back up with some nice lucha libre maneuvers. A unique scenario where Lethal and Cassidy went back to back for a German Suplex but Fenix and O'Reilly escaped and then all four men went down. Knox was a little slow/hesitant to start a count; almost forgivable since Jay Lethal was on the top rope. Dueling submissions Kyle O'Reilly and Jay Lethal were looking for an opponent to tap. Good build of suspense. Lethal Injection on O'Reilly allows Jay to turn his attention to Rey Fenix. Fenix off faking a leg injury wins with a small package. We are in for a heck of a match next week Will Ospreay v Rey Fenix.

It looks like there may be a intergender tag match in the future.

As Hozier's new song would say Jericho is "too sweat for me". However once you get passed the saccharin fakeness in the new Jericho character his shaky camera work is definitely a nice clapback at those who criticize the production quality of AEW.

and his opponent

Brain Cage has been on a roll lately. I think he would also benefit much better than Mark Briscoe to continue on. Paul Turner caught the chair nicely. Mark shone in the early portion of the match. Mark Briscoe messing with the chair allowed Cage to take over. Cage's signature Vertical Suplex into the ring is a superb move. Briscoe kicks out of a big Liger Bomb. Which a Liger Bomb has became one of those moves that no one puts anyone away with unless they are Jushin Thunder Liger. Mark Briscoe joins Konosuke Takeshita in the Ladder Match to crown a new TNT Champion.

Another return in Wheeler Yuta who has been out of action since Anarchy in the Arena. The worst part of this match is not being able to quickly type the Luchadors' names. All 8 men start to throw fist at the sound of the bell. It breaks down before it starts. They seem to be using lucha tag rules where you teammate only needs to exit the ring. So much fast paced action. The Blackpool Combat Club is looking remarkable together. Team CMLL isn't looking shabby either. Interesting observation both teams are using the corners often left as neutral corners. Esfinge gets tagged in and takes down all of the BCC. After much high impact action Wheeler Yuta will win the match with a seatbelt pin.

Mariah May is dressed in the Toni Storm Outcast Era. Saraya is a perfect heel. I am still waiting on the Saraya against Timeless Toni Storm match. Saraya is dominating this match. Each lady goes for a double cross body. This should be the time for Mariah May to get the advantage. A missel drop kick by May is nice She may have hit her head a little rough. That is another seldom seen move. May kicked out a of a double underhook DDT style maneuver where she looked to land on her head. Mariah May taps out to the PTO.

Harley and Saraya attack after the match. Zak keeps Luther on the outside. Mina Shirakawa for the save. Toni is not happy and Mariah May place peacemaker. The way Mina is dressed tonight is very reminiscent of Gail Kim.

Now time for the main event. Where Roderick Strong has no chance of winning when just looking at the match. Additionally, AEW has all but made Ospreay against Swerve Official.

Not sure if the fans are hot for Swerve or just the match in general as they are chanting Swerve's chant even before the match. This is starting at a slow methodical pace. Roderick Strong has the advantage there. Swerve starts to pick it up after he stalled a flip into a tijaris. Backbreaker by Strong onto Swerve using the top turnbuckle. Swerve counters a toss into a Swerve stomp out of no where. Swerve reversed another move out of no where this time into a powerslam. These type of reversals shows why Swerve is main event level talent. Roderick Strong hits a Codebreaker. That did nothing to get a win for Strong. After dodging two House Calls Roderick Strong succumbs to Swerve Strickland. The obvious retention.
