RECENT AEW DEPARTURE EXPECTED TO JOIN WWE ‘IMMEDIATELY’

A recent AEW departure is reportedly expected to join WWE “immediately” amid rumors surrounding a potential return at tonight’s Day 1 edition of Monday Night Raw (January 1).

While Andrade El Idolo was widely expected to be finishing up with AEW upon the expiry of his contract in 2024, it came as a bit of a surprise when it was revealed that his deal was in fact up at the end of 2023, making him a free agent come New Year’s Day.

This was confirmed by AEW President Tony Khan at the Worlds End post-show media scrum with the expectation that he would be re-signing with WWE.

Adding to this, rumors began swirling of a former WWE champion returning to the company on the New Year’s special of Raw, with some believing that the 34-year-old could be the mystery individual.

And now it seems further evidence to this coming to fruition could be here following a new update from Fightful Select.

In the post, which provides an update on several stars who will be hitting the free agency market on January 1, Fightful stated that Andrade would not be a free agent for long, as he instead expected to join WWE “immediately”.
