Released former WWE superstar Matt Riddle claims Randy Orton said: "I'm going to figure out a way to get this guy fired" after first meeting him backstage. Of course, recent outbursts show it's wise to take everything Matt Riddle says with a pinch of salt, but it is believable that a locker room leader like Randy Orton just didn't like him originally.

Matt Riddle told this story during an appearance with Signed By Superstars. According to him, Randy Orton heard Matt Riddle being loud backstage and was irked that the newbie didn't come up, introduce himself and shake his hand. That's standard protocol in pro wrestling, especially when you're a newcomer, but Matt Riddle says he didn't want to bother someone as busy as Randy Orton.

So, Randy Orton vowed to get rid of Matt Riddle ASAP.

That's something the future tag partners and friends went on to laugh about. Randy Orton even admitted he had considered looking into the possibility of WWE cutting Matt Riddle loose, but then said: "You're cool now".

Matt Riddle has been very vocal about unfinished business with the company since leaving WWE in September 2023. Controversy has followed the former 'RK-Bro' member around though, so Triple H might not be interested in ever bringing him back.
