New WWE Heavyweight Champion to be Determined via Tournament

Chief content Officer Paul Levesque announced during the Backlash press conference that leading to Night of Champions there will be a tournament to determine who will compete to be the inaugural champion.

To sum the above up the tournament will consist of four triple threat matches two on Smackdown and two on Raw. The two men who win each brands triple threat will pull double duty as they will then fight later that night to earn their spot in the match at Night of Champions.

WWE Night of Champions will be held May 27, 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
