Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannety have returned to Tennessee with a whole new attitude and they vow to take out any opponents who get in their way.
The Midnight Rockers (as they were known outside of the WWF) had a heel run for a brief time before they eventually returned back into the fold with Vince McMahon. This was at a time when the pair has actually signed on with the World Wrestling Federation, only to be fired almost immediately for misconduct away from the ring.
By their own admission, the team was partying too much and didn't have their heads in the game at the time. Stepping away gave them an opportunity to gain a little more seasoning, experience, and maturity.
So, for a time, they returned to the regional circuit, notably capturing the Southern Tag Team Championships in the Memphis territory. It was one of the few times the two performers worked together as heels, and it's definitely a different perspective than the brightly-colored babyfaces that would re-emerge a short time later in the WWF.
