In 1985, The Nature Boy was more of a 'tweener than a heel, but he's clearly the hero in this Cold War-era promo. The Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff had been unstoppable for months, and now his Uncle Ivan was making the case that he should be the man wearing The Ten Pounds of Gold. It also didn't help that the Soviets weren't just maligning Flair, but America at the same time.

While Nikita was earmarked as potentially being the NWA World Champion at some point, he was unable to wrest the belt away from Flair here. He would never capture the title and retired early to care for his ailing wife and pursue a life in the ministry. He still visits churches and other organizations to this day.
