JON MOXELY Match Added To AEW Double Or Nothing

Arran Hill

Tony Khan has announced a match for Jon Moxley at the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday, May 26.

Taking to Twitter to share a development in the growing feud between Konosuke Takeshita and Jon Moxley, Khan announced a title eliminator match.

The title however is not an AEW one, but rather Moxley’s IWGP World Title.

Tony Khan tweeted:

“Sunday, May 26 #AEWDoN Las Vegas @MGMGrand

“@njpw1972 IWGP World Title Eliminator

@JonMoxley vs @Takesoup

“5 years after he arrived at AEW’s first ever event, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley will fight vs Konosuke Takeshita 1-on-1 at #AEWDoN with a title shot at stake!”

The Eliminator stipulation means this match is non-title but if Takeshita wins he will get a title shot in the future, with a potential destination for that being AEW Forbidden Door, which is AEW’s next pay-per-view after Double Or Nothing.

However, before that, Moxley is slated to defend the IWGP Championship against Evil at Osaka Jo Hall on June 9 at NJPW Dominion.

Also at AEW Double or Nothing, the AEW World Championship will be on the line when Swerve Strickland defends against Christian Cage.

Another headline match is the Anarchy in the Arena between The Elite and Team AEW, with the latter now featuring Darby Allin instead of Eddie Kingston.
