Impact - Coventry Night 1

Hi guys, it’s Clint here with a review of the Sold Out Night 1 of Impact at the HMV Empire in Coventry.

Slater Vs Frankie Kazarian

Kazarian won the opener but the big talking point was when Scott D’amore entered the ring following the bout to offer Leon Slater a contract which he signed there and then. I will miss Leon on the UK scene but it’s well deserved.

Deonna Purazzo/Dani Luna Vs Jordynne Grace/Emersyn Jayne

Impact is known for always having a great knockouts division and this was my 2nd favorite match of the night with plenty of power and speed. Grace and Emersyn came out the victors.

Rich Swann Vs Amir Jordan

A dance off started this one as requested by the crowd. Rich Swann came out the winner of the match. The dance off is up for debate.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Grado Vs Brian Myers

“Like a Prayer” hit which is always gets the crowd going.

The match started with a Cartwheel off which I haven’t seen before. Even referee Tom Scarborough got involved.

The match ended with Grado saying “I’m sorry I love you” before missing a superkick which gave Myers the opening he needed to put Grado away.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Moose Vs Rhyno

The master of the Gore has been around for 25+ years now but is still popular with the crowd. The self proclaimed Wrestling God Moose hit a Low blow when the referee turned his back followed by a Spear for the win.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Joe Hendry Vs Eddie Edwards

Joe is known for his entrances and his current theme is far more catchy than I’d like to admit. The crowd believed in Joe Hendry but it was Eddie who won the fight.

Impact Womens Title match

Trinity Vs Gisele Shaw

This was a back and forth contest with both wrestlers showing why they’re at the top of the division. Trinity retained her title.

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Eric Young/Alex Alexander Vs Subculture Vs Chris Sabin/Frankie Kazarian

This was a bout that lived up to the words Total Nonstop Action. Alexander suplexed all 4 opponents. Nearly suplexing Young as well. Subculture hit a lot of double team moves and the makeshift team of Sabin/Kazarian held their own even though Sabin was worked over for a chunk of the match. Young and Alexander came away with the W.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alexander got on the mic at the end to praise his opponents before Kazarian told the crowd he chose to come back when the option was there in January. The night ended with another TNA chant from the crowd.
