FINAL CONFIRMED FOR AEW WORLD TITLE #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT

On last night’s episode of AEW Collision, two semi-finals matches to determine who would advance a step closer to a title shot at MJF.

MJF is set to face the winner of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, the semi-finals occurred on last night’s AEW Collision.

Roderick Strong took on Darby Allin, although there was an assist from Christian Cage and Luchasaurus who attacked Darby Allin backstage before the semi-final match began.

With Darby Allin seemingly injured after having been tossed around by the TNT Champion like a ragdoll backstage, he still came out to the ring to put up a brave fight.

With Nick Wayne at ringside, there was a moment during the match where perhaps AR Fox had intended to assist Darby Allin and Nick Wayne but it backfired, leading to AR Fox hitting a moonsault on Nick Wayne.

In the end, it was Roderick Strong who picked up the victory in the match to advance to the finals on the next episode of AEW Dynamite on September 13th.

In the show’s main event, Samoa Joe took on Penta El Zero Miedo and it was Samoa Joe who picked up the win as well to advance.

The finals of the tournament are set for Dynamite, featuring Roderick Strong set to take on Samoa Joe to find out who gets a shot at MJF at the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.
