Dynamite in New Orleans

The episode starts by hitting Jon Moxley's music. While he made is entrance commentary talked up CMLL. Now seeing as this is a late edition we already know after the match CMLL against the Blackpool Combat Club was set up. However, lets look at the action in the ring.

Mox starts by pushing Jeff Hardy into the corner and punching him. Jeff would get knocked out of the ring and after recovering choke Mox. Mox would regain control once back in the ring Mox would apply some submission. Jeff would eventually reverse what can only be assumed as a piledriver. This did not last long. The way this match is going fits the bill of a Darby Allin, or Jungle Boy match. Jeff would toss Mox over the rail into the luchadors. This distracted Jon Moxley as he would flip off the luchadors. The right hand Jeff Hardy received looked like something Paul Wight would have done when he was using the punch as a finisher. This match has allowed both men to hit the moves that everyone wants to see. Jeff would almost score a win with his whisper in the wind. Mox would pop up and deliver another mighty punch as Jeff Hardy is going for a senton. Hardy would hit two twists of fate before missing a swanton bomb. Mox would then lock in his rear naked choke for the win.

Then after the match the aforementioned attack by the CMLL luchadores occured. It will be interesting to see Volador, Sin Cara, and more in AEW. The big question is now how does that affect their relationship with AAA?

While Adam Page is coming out production shows a vignette for Sweve's opponent. The obvious clue is it will be RVD. Hangman is sporting a very thick mustache.

Liona is showing the power game. Something Adam Page is not normally pitted against. A low bridge would send Toa Liona out of the ring which would see him throw a fit. Liona would throw Adam Page out of the ring by his hair while he himself is on the ring apron. Aubrey messed up a clean pin. Toa only got a two count after doing a drop onto Hangman. Toa Liona is really shining in this match by being allowed to beat Adam Page up so much. Toa did a nice running headbutt to Adam Page while Page was upside-down. Then Toa no sold a dead eye. Toa Liona would almost win off a discus lariat. Hangman would get a crucifix pin out of nowhere for the win.

The Young Bucks arrived as a filler segment. Not sure what they are doing with their "God Given Name" gimmick. Especially since the names they claim on their birth certificates is a lie. But Kayfabe.

Wardlow just showed his power from the early portion of the match. He would just slam down Komander. Komander did attempt to use his speed with quick kicks and bouncing off the ropes but that did nothing. Komander would get Wardlow off his feet long enough to deliver a phoenix splash but soon after Wardlow would deliver a power slam. Wardlow would deliver a high knee to Komander using gravity to assist before a powerbomb for the win.

Big Bill looks like a teenager having to attend class. Darby does not allow/believe Ricky Starks as he says he respects Sting. Starks promises to retain and has no respect for Allin. Nothing really exciting about the build for next week's match.

Part of why this review is lat is I am still recovering from being on the Jericho Cruise. I met both these men on there Kyle Fletcher for the first time. THey are wonderful human beings. The match started out fast. Both men trading blows. Fletcher would hit Jericho with a michinoku driver out of nowhere. Fletcher with a beautiful field goal kick to Jericho's spine. Callis would trip Jericho while Aubrey Edwards was distracted by Hobbs. Fletcher would attempt a pin fall after a sheer drop brainbuster. That was a weak looking face smash. Walls of Jericho puts Kyle Fletcher in peril. Fletcher is able to use his long limbs to easily get to the ropes. Fletcher delivers a thrust kick for a near fall. Code Breaker by Jericho looked like a desperation move. The delay only got a two count for Jericho. A hockey fight would break out. Jericho, whose father is a hall of fame hockey player, would win the fight. Fletcher would deliver a brainbuster onto the turnbuckle. Fletcher dives out of the ring and is caught by a Judas Effect. Jericho would then deliver another Judas Effect off the top after throwing Fletcher into the ring.

Bang Bag Scissor Gang would cut a promo. They did a silly skit with the cut out of Juice Robinson. It ended with a feel good guns up scissoring. Just a time filler.

Deonna Purrazzo starts the match by working on Taya's arm. Taya is able to do a leg sweep and work on the leg. A tiaras sends Tay out of the ring. That advantage did not last long. The two ladies would eventually throw some really weak punches at each other. I have seen them both do better. Deonna Purrazzo would lock in a knee bar on Taya showing she has more submissions than just the Venus De Milo. After shoving Taya into Timeless Toni Storm, Deonna would put Taya into a submission for a win. Looked as if it could be a butterfly version of the Venus De Milo.

Oh! Surprise, Surprise... not really. The cat was out of the bag from the start of the show. It is nice to see RVD again in action but they could have not given it away at the start of the show. Keep that mystery. There was the nice swerve of it being a hardcore match. RVD starts out early by throwing a steel chair at Swerve Strickland. Strickland has not gotten any offense in for the first half of the match. Rob Van Damn is hitting his greatest hits. This causes fans to chant for RVD about how he can still go. Swerve would eventually take control when RVD attempted to enter the ring. So nice to see RVD hit a Rolling Thunder after he regained control. Brain Cage would provide a distraction for RVD until Hook would come out for the save. RVD takes back over control of the match before a quick jumping flatliner. Swerve Stomp to RVD who was seated in a steel chair on the outside of the ring. RVD would throw a chair into Swerve's head as he climbed to the top. Swerve would fall into the table breaking it. RVD misses a frog splash onto a chair. Swerve Stomp to RVD on the inside of the ring secures Swerve Strickland the win.
