AEW Star Says No -One Is On Excalibur's Level At Announcing, Including WWE's Joe Tessitore

Current AEW announcer Tony Schiavone commented on WWE’s latest broadcast hire Joe Tessitore following his debut on Raw.

On his podcast What Happened When, veteran pro wrestling broadcaster Tony Schiavone commented on WWE’s latest hire at the commentary desk.

Mentioning that he believes Joe Tessitore will do well in his new role in WWE, Schiavone made a point of saying that he doesn’t believe Tessitore will be on AEW Dynamite announcer Excalibur’s level, because “no-one” is.

Schiavone said:

“I’m sure he (Joe Tessitore) will do well. And I’m sure that Nick Khan is paying him a big chunk of money. I’m sure he is gonna end up being one of the best, I would hope, play-by-play men in wrestling.

“I don’t think he’ll be in the class of Excalibur, but then again, right now, in this day and age, no-one is. He’s amazing.”

Joe Tessitore made his WWE Raw debut on this past week’s episode of the show, appearing alongside Wade Barrett on the commentary panel.

Moving to SmackDown for the time being, Michael Cole will be joined by Corey Graves as the brand shifts to the USA Network.

The duo of Cole and Pat McAfee will return to WWE Raw when the show moves to Netflix at the start of January.
