This episode of Collision and the next 4 are coming from the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The show opened with a new theme, “Red Light Is On (Let’s Go) by Mikey Rukus and Omega Sparx. Elton John had a good run.
DARBY ALLIN VS THE BEAST MORTOS
This was the Beasts 4th AEW appearance and he’s impressed in them all. In the last year he’s wrestled in every promotion from AAA to Ring of Honor to Impact to AEW.
Mortos has intimidating head gear and McGuiness commented “How would you like that turning up to take one of your Daughters out Tony?”
He was in control for large parts of the match and Darby had to put his whole weight behind everything. Something he’s happy to do.
Darby hit a plancha to the outside but Mortos caught a second dive and spun Allin head first into the steel steps.
A Coffin Drop was hit by Darby to the outside while the Beast hit an impressive spinning crossbody through the ropes as both men traded the advantage.
Both men found themselves on the top rope as Mortos Gorilla Pressed Allin and sent him reeling to the canvas from a legitimate 10 feet from the mat.
Darby regained control and a 2nd Coffin Drop was enough to keep Mortos down for the 3 count.
As much as big names get signed I would love to see Darby get a run as AEW Champion in the next year. Hopefully The Beast Mortos can appear more in AEW too. He did some moves I’ve never seen before.
Darby grabbed the mic afterwards and said “You know, people always tell me to slow down as I won’t be able to walk when I’m 30. Well I’m 30 and I feel wonderful”. He said he’d rather get kicked in the face every night than go back to being a dishwasher. 1 of the pillars of AEW tore into The Young Bucks for never being around
He showed his scar from Stings last match and said it looked like Harry Potters head. (Better for him to say it than social media jump on the obvious similarity.)
Finally he said the TNT Title meant everything to him and said All In is right around the corner. “Jack Perry, if you’ve got the balls let’s play”.
2 of Darby’s partners for Blood and Guts on Wednesday The Acclaimed were shown in the back. Caster started rhyming and Billy Gunn cut him off. He said it’s not about Bowens being the scissor king or Caster rapping. It’s about being a bad ass. “It’s time to nut up or shut up.
SHIDA VS SKYE BLUE
Former AEW Champion Shida came out as Tony remarked she’d won 3 of her 4 AEW matches in 2024. Skye has an even better record in Ring of Honor recently with 13 wins in 14.
Blue has a different look recently since Julia Hart who she had aligned with got injured. She attacked Shida and this match was just getting going when Hikaru hit a crossbody from the 2nd rope to the outside.
The referee called the medics in as Skye had twisted her leg when Shida landed on her. She was checked over and Shida was awarded the win by stoppage. Hopefully this was more precautionary and we see Skye in the ring soon. The crowd respectfully chanted her name as she was helped to the back.
Lance Archer was shown in the back beating up 4 men. I didn’t recognise them. He said everyone has forgotten what he can do. Everybody dies.
A recap from Dynamite was shown of Suzuki handing the contract to Jericho on TV Time with The Learning Tree. They have a match for the FTW Title this week in what is surprisingly a first time match.
Jericho was shown in the back and went over their experience and history. He said Suzuki should have never turned down The Learning Tree when he asked him to be his partner. Thanks guys.
REY FENIX VS TONY NESE
This was 10 minutes of showcasing what Nese can do. Between interference and his own ability he was in control and when he hit a 450 splash there was that moment that happens in a lot of AEW matches where you think you know who will win but question it briefly.
Fenix did pick up the win after a Frog Splash.
FTR were brought out to the ring by Tony Sciavone. Cash said the last 2 years have been the greatest run of their careers. Surprisingly he discussed his name being dragged through the mud and said getting in the ring was his escape.
He said they’ve got their sights on The Young Bucks. Dax said 2022 and 2023 saw 4 Tag Team Title reigns (ROH and New Japan being 2). He said in April he had a back injury he didn’t know he’d come back from. Matt and Nick had leapfrogged them as the best Tag Team in the world. He’d hoped in his 6 weeks off he’d see The Young Bucks elevate the division and they didn’t even defend the Titles.
The message was clear that next week the road to the Tag Titles at Wembley Stadium for All in begins.
Lexy Nair was in the back with Shida who called out Dr Britt Baker. “I made you bleed once before when I broke your nose. I will do it again at Blood and Guys”.
RODERICK STRONG VS TOMOHIRO ISHII
It’s shocking that Ishii isn’t currently putting on bangers in the G1 Climax. New Japans loss is AEW’s gain.
A rematch 8 years in the making started with both men exchanging chops with nothing held back.
Ishii took some forearms in the corner before unleashing a vicious one of his own that knocked Roddy off his feet.
The former International Champion gained control for the next few minutes. Once Ishii was back in charge he held Roddy up in a suplex from the 2nd rope for 10 seconds.
Strong hit his trademark selection of knee strikes while Ishii hit Lariots. Taven and Bennett came back out and distracted Ishii which was enough for Roddy to hit a low blow and a final knee strike for the win.
The 3 were going to beat Tomohiro up some more but the Ring of Honor Champion Mark Briscoe and Kyle O’Reilly made the save. Briscoe is defending his title against Roddy at Death Before Dishonor on Friday in what will no doubt be another classic.
It’s hard to think Roderick Strong has not always been used to his potential before arriving in AEW.
The Von Erich’s and The Rhodes came together in the back.
A recap of the Ospreay Vs MJF match that went 59.58 on Dynamite was shown.
HOLOGRAM VS GRINGO LOCO
Hologram made his flash entrance for jisnAEW debut whilst Gringo got a pop when introduced.
Within 10 seconds of this match starting Hologram was standing on Loco’s shoulder and doing some death defying dives.
The new star evaded Gringo uniquely which frustrated him. He hit a jumping huricarana from the top rope to the outside.
Hologram won in 4 minutes 15 but they got as much done in that time as you see in 10+ minute matches elsewhere.
In the back, Mark Briscoe said he’d got wiser and tougher since the last time he faced Roderick Strong. He then spoke about Blood and Guts and representing AEW. He told his opponents to bring the fight. “Let’s get violent boys”.
LUMBERJACK MATCH
THUNDER ROSA VS DEONNA PURAZZO
Valkyrie, Shafir, Starkz, Ellering, Abadon, Queen Amanita, Diamanté, Frost, Red Velvet, Hirsch and 1 of the Renegade twins were spotted at ringside. There may have been more.
AEW’s 7th Lumberjack match was controlled in the beginning by Rosa until she went to go to the top rope while Dionna was on the outside and Taya grabbed her leg. Purazzo took advantage and suplexed her from the top rope on to most of the Women on the outside.
Nigel said “Don’t get too excited Tony, you end up saying things you regret. A throwback to Sciavone called Mariah a bitch on Dynamite.
Taya and Diamanté fought Thunder on the outside before Rosa hit a running dropkick on Purazzo.
Diamanté attacked Rosa again and Hirsch got involved before all the Lumberjacks started fighting. In the chaos Taya handed Deonna a turnbuckle and she hit Thunder with a knockout shot to get her hand raised in the 2nd AEW Women’s Lumberjack match.
BANG BANG GANG (The Gunn Club and Juice Robinson) VS THE PATRIARCHY (Christian, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne)
The Trios Titles were vacated once Jay White got injured.
The Patriarchy as No1 contenders and the other members of the Bang Bang Gang fought it out to crown new Champions.
The match went back and forth for 12 minutes and multiple saves as you’d expect.
The end came when Luchasaurus hit Christian with a headbutt by accident. This wasn’t the end though as in the commotion Mother Wayne sprayed Juice with something and Christian hit the Killswitch on Robinson for the 3 count.

We have new Trios Champions although I’m not sure how much Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne will be actually holding the Titles.
